The Best Ways To Celebrate Football Sundays

While baseball has been called America’s pastime, over the past several decades the National Football League has quickly become the ultimate sports experience for generations of fans across the country.  Sunday afternoons have become a cultural celebration, complete with beer, cheesesteaks, pizza, chips, cheerleaders and great times.  Some fans like to watch the games in complete comfort with their favorite NFL slippers on, while others choose to slather their skin in the glorious colors of their team.

Regardless of how you choose to display your affections, there are several ways to make Sundays even more enjoyable during the football season.

-    Don’t let distractions in the home ruin your experience!

When hosting guests for a football game, you will undoubtedly run into various situations such as idle banter not associated with football, dogs barking for no reason and even children running around and screaming. (If you are a wise parent, you will teach them from an early age on how to appreciate sporting events)  To make dealing with these issues a fun experience, make your own penalty flag! If children are being too rowdy and are drowning out the TV, throw the flag and call a 5 minute penalty where they have to refill everyone’s drink of choice.  Not only can this provide for some entertaining moments throughout the day, but it’s a good way to reign in everyone’s attention on the game.

-    Explain how the game works for those who do not understand football.

People can become easily distracted when they don’t understand something; ask them to sit next to you so that you can explain what is happening and answer whatever questions they may have.  Who knows, you may end up developing a football fan for life overnight!

Whether you choose to don NFL sneaker slippers to warm up before the game, or endorse a secret ritual granting your team better luck, there is no doubt that football Sundays are an exciting experience.
